1 - You're Gonna Go Far Kid, The Offspring

Show me how to lie
You're getting better all the time
And "turn it all against one"
isn't all that hard to teach

Another clever word
Sets off another unsuspecting hurt
And as you step back into line
A mob jumps to their feet

"...so you see, Agent, ah-"

"Morrison. And this is Agent Sorai here."

"Morrison. Sorry, it's been a long day." The officer shook his head before pointing to the doorway that was currently barred off by yellow "CRIME SCENE: DO NOT CROSS" tape. "The victims were just enjoying themselves before they reported seeing 'moving shadows'. Two of them were able to escape, but apparently these so-called 'shadows' caught the third, and..."

"And?"

"...ripped out his heart. But there's no trace of blood or anything around, hell, it doesn't even look like there was a third person there."

"Hm. Well, I suppose we should get moving, then. Thank you, officer."

As the man disappeared, the two stepped forward, ducking underneath the tape. Once they were out of the others' range of vision, their forms seemed to melt away, revealing two teenage boys, one with impossibly spiky hair, the other - white bangs.

Sora's eyes widened as their disguises dropped, turning to Nate with a look of admiration on his face. "That was so cool! How'd you-"

The rest of the sentence was muffled by Nate's hand covering his mouth. "Shhh! You want them to come back? They find us standin' here instead of those goons that we were impersonating and we'll get arrested! And I really don't feel like attractin' more attention than we need to at this point." The psychic sighed, looking around. "They're right, no traces of blood, but I definitely know there were three people in here. The psychic residue shows that much." He dropped his hand from Sora's mouth, looking to the younger teen. "Anything?"

"Yeah... it was definitely a Heartless. I can feel it. Though what's a Heartless doing on your world, Nate?"

He shook his head. "Wish I knew, Sora. S'why I brought you here - thought you might know what's goin' on."

Now dance fucker dance
Man, he never really had a chance
And no one even knew
It was really only you

And now you seal the way
Take 'em out today
Nice work you did
You're gonna go far, kid

2 - A Light In A Darkened World, Killswitch Engage

[identity profile] ttlynotcable.livejournal.com 2010-07-09 04:51 am (UTC)(link)
Now choose this day who you will serve
To be the light in this darkened world
It's in your hands, it's in your head
Become the light in this darkened world

One was an ordinary kid that was dragged into the most dire of circumstances, becoming a hero when he wasn't even supposed to be one in the first place.

The other was a born and bred as a tool of war, able to manipulate energies far beyond his measure, sure to kill him before he would become an adult.

They had both seen their fair share of tragedy and comedy, moments of grieving and of rejoicing. Both were, respectively, the "lights" of their worlds - people meant to save others from dropping into despair.

And they wouldn't have it any other way.

3 - Scar on the Sky, Chris Cornell

[identity profile] ttlynotcable.livejournal.com 2010-07-09 04:58 am (UTC)(link)
As I fall I leave this scar upon the sky
A simple note for you, I'll wait for your reply
And in your answer I'll regain my will to try

So hover in the diving light
We will rip the night
Out of the arms of the sun one more time
Close your eyes and we will fly
Above the clouded sky
And over the dumbstruck world we will run

"Sora, you sure on this? You don't have to do this if you don't feel up to it-"

"Nope! I'm ready! Besides, I've glided before, this isn't that much different, right?" He gave one of his trademark cheesy grins and gave Nate the thumbs-up. He knew that Nate could fly himself through telekinesis, but he wanted to try it too. He liked the feeling of the wind rushing past, and being able to see everything.

So here they were, on top of a cliff overlooking a small Irish village, Sora ready to take that leap of faith.

Nate wondered how nice it was to be able to have that much blind faith in someone. "Well... guess so. Alright, if you're ready. Listen, first chance you start fallin', I'm grabbing you, got that? I'm not lettin' you be a pancake on someone's roof."
