1. "CROSS WITH YOU ~80'S DISCO MIX~" - Suwabe Junichi
Issei sat on a step staring out into the distance.
"Hey, Issei." Yosuke approached and sat down next to him. "What's the matter?"
Issei seemed to snap out of something, and he smiled at his friend. "Ah, nothing is! I was merely enjoying the scenery. How are you, Hanamura?"
Yosuke sighed. "Nothing good comes out of repressing things. I learned that the hard way."
"How has that worked out for you?" Issei asked.
"Pretty well, actually. I'm going to be honest with myself. If I do that, I can take on the world." Yosuke grinned. "So spill the beans."
"Well..."
2. "God Is A DJ" - Pink
Issei stared at the ceiling. "Hanamura..."
"Yeah?" Yosuke asked, unwrapping a Topsicle.
"Do you ever wonder what things would be like, had you been born in different circumstances? You could be richer, poorer, in another country... How much would you change because of your environment?" Issei wondered.
"Huh." Yosuke thought about that for a few seconds. "Does it really matter? I'm me because of what I decided to do, not because I'm a Junes manager's son. I have to deal with that way too much."
Issei looked over. "You're right, I'm sorry. Perhaps being a monk is much the same."
3. "BE KILL BY DEMONS" - Dungeons of Dorks
After Yosuke finished telling his story about the soldier who turned out to be one of the demons he was set on destroying, Issei clapped politely. "Traditionally, one uses mostly mundane elements in a campfire horror story, except for the one disturbing element that makes the story interesting."
Yosuke shrugged. "We're community members. It's realistic."
"Yes, but it loses some of its effectiveness." Issei cleared his throat, and told the story about the man who was called by his girlfriend's father, only to be told by his girlfriend that he had been dead for years.
"Sorry, Issei. Heard it before."
4. "I Hope You Dance" - Lee Ann Womack
"How old are you, Hanamura?" Issei asked idly.
"Seventeen," came the reply without Yosuke looking away from the TV. "Why?"
"Two years younger and three inches taller..." Briefly, Issei scowled.
Yosuke chuckled. "It's just luck, don't worry about it."
"That wasn't the reason I asked, however. I couldn't tell whether or not it was my duty to look after you." Issei let out a pleased sigh. "Now that I know, I'll be able to hope for the best in your development as an adult. I think you'll do well."
"...Issei. You're two years older than me. You're not my mom."
5. "Confines of Gravity" - PlayRadioPlay!
"Have you thought about your future career options?" Issei asked.
Yosuke shrugged. "Dad wants me to inherit this branch of Junes."
Issei narrowed his eyes at him. "I would have asked your father if I wanted his opinion. You defeated a goddess - there is no limit to what you can do, only your own choosing. You aren't even necessarily confined to your own world."
"Maybe I should ask you the same thing. You've never talked about being anything other than the next head of your temple - isn't there anything else you want to do in the multiverse?"
"...No?"
