Issei pressed Birkin down onto the bed, nibbling at his chest. Birkin shivered before speaking up. "Hey, Issei."

Issei separated from Birkin's skin. "Yes?"

"Doesn't it bother you that you're doing this with me?" Birkin asked. "I'm not a good person."

"You are to me," Issei answered. "I'm sure it'll work out well."

Birkin might've said something more, but Issei chose that time to apply his mouth to a different part of his body.

Issei would remember this later, as he knelt by what was his friend and wiped tears away. Not having to choose. He got what he wanted...

"But I'm terrible at romance," Birkin said, a worried look on his face. "Ask Annette. Or Stein."

"I know all that," Issei replied with a dismissive wave of his hand, before laying said hand on Birkin's shoulder. "It's endearing, so don't worry."

"I'm a criminal," Birkin reminded him. "You're putting yourself in danger just by being near me."

"Community member, used to danger." The hand moved to Birkin's cheek.

"St-Stein and Annette will be out to get you," Birkin stammered.

"Let them come." Issei moved closer.

"I'll hurt you, I'm not-"

"If it comes with your love, then hurt me."

3. "No Such Thing" - John Mayer

"Issei, listen." Birkin was feeling suddenly philosophical. It may have had something to do with the amount of beer he'd drank. "Do you think when I was a kid, I knew I wanted to end up like this?"

"No, I can say with confidence that it never crossed your mind," Issei answered. "Why do you ask?"

"Because you're so... law-abiding. You follow the family business... You have to be repressing something." Birkin nodded sagely. "There's no real rules on what you want to be. You just have to ignore the ones they make up."

Issei smiled. "I know, but thanks."

"So since we've talked every other aspect of our love lives to death," Birkin began, "what's your ideal man like?"

Issei blinked. "My ideal man? It isn't so much what he looks like, though I do enjoy the blond hair, blue eyes combination. Rather, it's what he acts like that's important."

"So...?" Birkin prompted.

"The man I'd search for, were I single, would be unassuming. I would like someone who has no airs of greatness, perhaps even someone who thinks themselves weak, but possesses a great inner strength. ...It would be nice if he blushed."

Birkin blinked. "...Good to know."

5. "Something's Wrong" - K's Choice

"You blew up the White House?" Issei asked warily. "That's... very interesting."

"Isn't it?" Birkin sighed, fondly reminiscing. "To be honest, I didn't think we could pull it off. Wesker has the best ideas."

"Of course he does." Issei cleared his throat. "What are you doing at the moment?"

"Working on new viruses and BOWs. Mostly BOWs." Birkin grinned. "Why ask?"

"...There is something very wrong here. Partially because you're doing all of these things, and partially because I still like you despite that," Issei commented.

Birkin ruffled his hair. "You love me and you know it."

Issei smiled. "True."
