She proceeded to begin a long search for her missing head - and in this case, it took her near Hogwarts. She was discovered and offered a place to stay there, and she agreed and also took up a teaching position, because she didn't feel right staying there for free; naturally, she teaches the area that she has the most first-hand experience in.
Her search has been a lot slower recently - mostly because she's sure now that her head is either with the Death Eaters or the Ministry of Magic, either of which mean it's going to be hard to get it back.
