# Teru no Uta (http://www.animelyrics.com/anime/earthsea/teerunouta.htm) by Aoi Teshima.
# Note: non-DDD and Zel's still a chimera.

Someone was travelling the same way he was. The approaching nightfall accompanied by a light drizzle of rain made them hard to make out, but it was certain they were vaguely human-shaped and travelling alone across the moorland, just like him.

He knew it would be another few hours of treacherous hiking before they saw a village. He trudged on tirelessly, keeping an eye on the stranger. It never hurt to be cautious. They didn't deviate from their course or try to close the distance.
___
A guitar sat by the fireplace. Experimentally, he strummed a few notes on it, getting into the music while waiting for his clothing to dry. The landlady was still up and about; he could hear her footsteps. It was ... quiet. Just the way he liked it, he thought, turning his thoughts away from friends he hadn't seen in ages and back to the music.

Someone took the room next to his; he could hear the landlady talking over the newcomer's soft tones. He didn't hear what they said -- their voice had to compete with his music, the fire, the rain, and the landlady. Was it the stranger from the moor? He didn't care to find out.
___
It was raining again the next day. He left the lodging house and navigated his way through the puddles on the road, almost overtaking a stranger in black robes with...

He didn't need to deal with this right now.

The "stranger" turned his head and gave a wave. Otherwise, he said nothing.

... ... ... ... ... Whatever he was doing, they were apparently going the same way. Again.

Again.
