If he told her honestly, she would believe him. He knew that. She was like the Fujiwaras, caring about him before they'd even gotten to know each other very well. Even if he could gain the courage to tell them, or her, about himself-- about the things he went through, they cared too much. The kind of life he lived, if he didn't make an appearance on the community for a while she wouldn't think anything of it. At home, that smile Touko wore when she saw him come home covered in dirt, thinking he'd just gotten into some kind of nonsense with his friends. If they knew, all it would do is cause trouble. He didn't want to see Roze cry, just like with Touko and Shigeru.

Was it cruelty not to trust someone with knowing who you were, even if it meant that they wouldn't have to be terrified that you weren't going to come back alive?

Even so, he wanted to tell her. As he stared out the window, the sunlight glittered in the droplets on the window. It was still drizzling slightly and Nyanko-sensei was asleep in the corner. Natsume glanced over to the cat, briefly leaning over to pat his head, then reached for the notebook that the community had come to inhabit. Even if he couldn't tell her, he could still talk to her. He wouldn't ever give that up, as long as she was willing to put up with his lies.

With all that the community could do, it was little wonder that this hadn't happened sooner. Issei Ryudo and Harumi Fujiyoshi were sitting in their pimped out ride, waiting for the guy from their rival gang to show up because he was totally gonna rat on the other guys or something equally not cool like that but Issei and Harumi were gonna take advantage of that before they went out and got some ho's.

Not that Harumi hadn't already started planning the ho's part already. While waiting, she had put her bigass sunglasses (which she was wearing at night because who freaking even knows) and was scribbling something on the back of her phone with a pencil. Issei peeked over and saw that she was drawing Issei with... well, he was assuming they were guys considering who he was siting next to, but they were fairly androgynous.

"Cut that out."

Harumi pouted and slumped down in her seat.

"Haters be hatin'."

And she reached out and turned the music on so that their backseat that had been entirely converted into a subwoofer could play some kind of wacked out Dubstep version of the Viridian Forest theme from Pokemon.

Occasionally, Temperance partook in adventures from her living room. It wasn't a common occurrence and when it did happen, it usually didn't result in anything fruitful.

This would be one of those ventures in which Dr. Brennan would have issues distinguishing that no one actually believed that things in a television show about 10 year old boys who curse a lot was possible, scientifically.

Which meant that tomorrow, Booth would have to explain to her that he was fully aware that no one actually believed Canadians were to blame for children watching inappropriate movies and that it was cartoon, it had no obligation to be based in fact.

Brennan would never understand why people watch TV.
