Well, sort of. In the end, it really only lasted one episode, after which the writers went full-on Karen-no-visible-slash-but-we-all-know-it's-there-Kurumi and the magician became Rin's exclusive crush. And then that ended when they found out he was evil (courtesy of Bunbee, I'm not kidding).
