The song that fits her best, though... I'll have to say "Born", by Over the Rhine. It's a love song, sure, but it's one that fits a girl who remains optimistic even through a life that your average RPG heroine would turn into a bitter little ball of angst over. If you don't view it as a love song, and interpret the penultimate stanza as a plain statement, it fits her relationship with her ka-tet boys team pretty darn well. (But if you're determined to see it as a love song, well, Word Of God says she can't love any man but her father until she's done grieving over him... if and when she does fall for someone, it'll be cautiously!)

Giro was a hard one. But after a lot of thought I actually give him Two Worlds (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F0X7PAq3Ku8), by Phil Collins (and yes, as in from Tarzan xD ). It applies not only to the dual sides of his life (the "two worlds" part) but how he takes care of Vent and Aile after they were orphaned in a Maverick attack.

It's a little upbeat for him, but it works because he doesn't know who he is or where he's going, yet he's determined to get there in the end and make something of himself.

Although I tried avoiding canon songs, for Suicune I just had to pick one (although it's from the ending of a totally different movie than the one he was in XD ).
