ONE. list your characters (journal names optional).
TWO. others reply with one of those characters or a pairing for you to write; platonic or romantic is up to you.
THREE. pick five cliché AUs from this list (complete with explanations!), and write something of any length - a sentence, a paragraph, a drabble, or a full-length ficlet, if you'd prefer - for each of those five AUs, involving that character or pairing.

Scrooge simply wouldn't listen when everyone told him a matchbox was not an acceptable substitute for a real drum set, no matter how much cheaper it turned out to be.

His band "McDuck and the Junkyard Ducklings" was still a massive source of profit.

Finally... the Philosopher's Stone. After years of what seemed fruitless search, Scrooge McDuck stood in front of the fabled stone.

And it was distinctly not golden.

"Unca Scrooge..." said one of his grandnephews, checking his pocket-sized encyclopaedia. "I think we have the wrong Philosopher's Stone. This one doesn't turn things to gold, it gives eternal life."

"...Humbug."

At first, he panicked.

Of course he panicked. How could he do business in his current state? Nobody would take him seriously now that his top hat was almost as big as himself.

But then he sat near the stairs overlooking his cubic acres of money, and his panic was replaced with a feeling of crushing... regret? Was that it? No, not quite. But there was something he lacked, something he had when he was younger and he no longer had now that he LOOKED younger.

The cold metal brought back memories of achievements and adventures, yes... But his tinier self reminded him of the days before the world had turned his heart to stone.

The world ended, but one sign, one billboard still stood tall.

"McDuck Miscellaneous Materials: Strong. Reliable. Cheap. Really cheap."

It wasn't much of a shining beacon of inspiration, but it was a nice reminder that not all advertising was dishonest.

05. Historical Event

Slow day. The atmosphere felt heavy that day, and Scrooge McDuck, a humble flower salesman, was about to take his little cart somewhere else. Maybe he'd go all the way to Spain, people there seemed to have more money to spare.

He wasn't really sure when the tide started to change, but he vaguely remembered it had started with a little girl, asking for a single red carnation.

Before long, hundreds of people came to him wanting to buy the same, and the heavy atmosphere slowly lightened up.

The 25th of April was a day of revolution, not only for Portugal, but also for a duck wishing to make his family proud.
