Nagisa sneezed. "Are you sure this is a good idea?"

Karen turned up her nose and closed her eyes. "Of course. If there is a ghost troubling this mansion, then it's best to get rid of it right away. I'm not about to allow it to run rampant just because my usual partner is unavailable at the moment."

"But why do I have to be your new partner?", Nagisa groaned.

"You were present and appeared to be capable enough. Come on." Karen looked forward and led the way up the steps of the haunted house. "You have got the supplies, right?"

Nagisa followed, holding onto the bag. "Yeah, they're here..."

"Good. Now I'll need the candles when we get inside, and the... Misumi-san?"

"K-Karen... it's beside you!"

In one fluid motion, Karen reached into her pocket, grabbed a handful of some sort of sparkling dust, and spun in a circle, releasing the dust everywhere. The apparition at her side burned up, and she dusted off her hands.

"That wasn't it, Misumi-san." She dusted her hands off disapprovingly. "But seeing one of those makes things more complicated. We'll need the red thread now, too. Come on. You did bring it, right?"

Nagisa just wanted to go home.
