And like hell he was going to let anyone use him for their "entertainment" - what he did was for his own benefit and nobody else's. He was going to fulfill his goals himself, dammit.
But even though he had every intention of leaving, getting a worldhop out of there and getting back to what he needed to do, he still stopped in the doorway, red eye glaring back to where Kanna was sitting. His voice was low, dangerous. "I told you already, kid. I have no intention of 'making friends' with anyone. The less you have to do with me, the better."
"But what if I still want to be your friend?" She was practically begging, tears shining in her eyes. How could anyone be so cold? He had even protected her before, so why was there such a sudden change in his personality?
The thing was, Ragna didn't even know himself. Something about her just reminded him of Saya, and he honestly hated that. He knew that she wasn't one of those damn clones; the wings and the fact that she didn't have her face was proof enough. "I don't want friends."
"Do you really, Ragna-san? Your eyes... they're always so sad, and angry. Do you really hate the world that much?"
The question threw him off-guard, and there was a definite tightening in his jaw as he snorted. "If you even knew an inkling of what I've gone through, wouldn't you?"
"But I don't! Because you haven't told anyone!"
"Because it's not their business." He turned around to fully face her, two-tone eyes blazing with frustration and rage and - he didn't even know, the emotions just mixed and melded together too easily anymore that it was just a strange swirl in his chest.
"But how can we know what you're going though? How can we stay away like you want us to if we don't know anything? Please, Ragna-san, at least hear me out!"
Those eyes...
He didn't say anything at first, averting his gaze as he seemed to be glaring a particular speck of dust on the floor. He could hear her sobbing, but he didn't want to look at her, he couldn't. If he did, he knew that he'd be following her hook, line, and sinker. Because her eyes were like hers.
"Fine. You got five minutes."
