Ffff, I agree so hard with all of these. Actually I've been wondering how the witches/magic thing works in Soul Eater canon, since I've seen it thrown around that Maka doesn't trust/like them all that much, and with Sam being the Son of Magic and all... o3o

Yeah, in SE world, having magic drives you to become a destructive and evil person probably close to 98% of the time. So Maka has issues with witches because they are, in her experience, almost universally people who destroy other people for fun. That said, she actually doesn't have anything against magic per se. She and Soul have a magical cat living with them. If she can be convinced that you are at worst dangerously mischievous, she'll have no problem. And she'll prove quite willing to defend someone who turns out to have magic, or even be a witch, if she's gotten to know them well and trust them first. (The community is also exposing her to the concept that "witch" might not always be as bad as it is in her world. But she's still deeply suspicious.)
