i am in the mood for lots of tl;dr today!!
Have you ever wondered what it might be like if two characters got into a romantic relationship together? Would it work, or would it fall apart within the first month? Do you think they could be happy together in a long relationship, or would they ditch each other immediately after the fun was had? Well, here's your chance to think about it and find out what others think with some delicious TL;DR on the various hypothetical relationships, plausible or not.
ღ post all your characters.
ღ respond to others with a hypothetical relationship involving one of their characters: what if character a and character b got together?
ღ tl;dr about any responses you get saying how you think the relationship would work!
ღ keep in mind, it doesn't have to work. it's fine to say "it would last a week and then a would kill b."

In all honesty? I think it would actually work. Because I can't imagine them acting much differently at all - even if they were in a romantic relationship, the way they treated each other would be pretty much exactly the same, and definitely so on the surface. They wouldn't encounter any problems like sex either, because Neuro wouldn't want it and Yako wouldn't need it. Their relationship would never rely on, or really, have anything to do with sexual intimacy.
The closest they would come to it, and one of the only ways their behaviour towards each other would change, is that Yako might give Neuro a hug or a light kiss as a sign of innocent affection or gratitude, and Neuro would do similar gestures to her either to humiliate and embarrass her (e.g. kissing her in public and then acting scandalised and going SENSEI DON'T DO SUCH BOLD THINGS IN PUBLIC YOU'RE SUCH A RAVENOUS PERVERT ;////;) or as a form of reward or praise - i.e., when she does something extraordinary, when she solves a case, when she evolves in his eyes, he might give her a kiss on the cheek as silent praise. ... And then slam her face into the floor to even it out.
Also, I think Neuro would probably like taking advantage of the various upsides to being a boyfriend. What's mine is yours, no secrets between us, etc. It would give him an excuse to be openly possessive because he could falsely claim that it's just ~jealousy~ (and that he's worried his beloved sensei will run off with another man if he doesn't keep her close because she is a filthy greedy whore like that ;////;), and it would also mean that he would be the absolute most important person to Yako. He'd have her complete and utter loyalty - I imagine if she ever bothered trying to explain love between people to him, she'd say it in terms of "the utmost loyalty and devotion" or something - and he could be confident in knowing that he meant more to her than anything and she would do anything for him. He'd have a solid grip on his slave.
Besides, honestly, Neuro is the only person who could deal with Yako's weirdness, her ridiculous appetite, her desire to evolve and all of those kinds of things in the long run lmfao.
THERE IS MY TL;DR THAT NO ONE CARES ABOUT ~~~/o/

...for kicks, Austria/Belarus. And Austria/Romano.

It's something that could be possible, given she's in her best years of mental stability right now. This one is all talking short-term, though, because I doubt they could ever last long-term; there would be a lot of problems they could encounter, the most significant of which being that she is a nation and thus near-immortal, and her nation status would also mean she's dedicated to her country and her people over anything, and her mental and physical state would be constantly changing due to international relations/war/etc. It's very complicated for a human to be in a relationship with a young and changing nation, naturally.
Beyond that, Issei is kind and loving and caring, which is something that Belarus needs and did not often have. He'd probably give her a fair view of the world, both good sides and bad. They're both very loyal, so that would be one of the greatest strengths of their relationship. (There might still be a little yandere still stuck in her mind on her behalf, but nothing so serious that he couldn't tolerate it.) They're both intelligent and often peaceful people, so I can imagine that being a good bonding point for them. It would be a bit of an awkward relationship sometimes, but it wouldn't be bad.
I definitely can't see it ever happening, but if it did, the relationship would be painfully professional. They're both reserved, refined and formal, so really, they would seem more like business partners than an actual couple. Her harsh bluntness would clash with his easily embarrassed nature. Again, they would have intelligence to bond over, and I can picture that she would very much enjoy his music, and they are both quiet individuals - so it would be a peaceful relationship, but it would be very much lacking in life and energy. There'd really be no passion to speak of, there. It would be more like they're satisfied, bordering on content. There are no complaints to speak of about the relationship, but there... wouldn't be much else to speak of, either.
A-ahaha they would kill each other. N-no, I don't think this one would ever work. They couldn't even stand to live in each others' houses for like. A decade. Their personalities clash horribly, Romano probably still has something against him for defeating his country and separating Veneziano from him for so long, and he's also at least a little bit terrified of him. Romano needs cheerful, energetic people to balance out his cynicism and his cripplingly low self-esteem and his shyness; Austria is critical and socially awkward and only rarely gentle. They're just so incompatible it's laughable.
... Also Spain would just steal Romano back lmfao. Or Romano would go running back to Spain.

It could definitely work! They're both cheery, energetic people who put their whole effort into what they do, they're enthusiastic with mischievous and playful sides, they're loyal and loving and they're just two kinds of personalities that could easily click and lock. It'd be a very happy relationship and one of those ones that is full of love and life. Kaito would accept her strangeness and he wouldn't care about her eating habits because they're just a part of who she is, and Yako would support Kaito no matter what, because that's the kind of person she is in any relationship - she is the support and the comfort and the heart.
She'd even be understanding and supportive of his work as Kaitou Kid. Honestly, she'd probably want to help him out where she could, even though he wouldn't let her for fear of her getting involved and caught by his enemies - that would be something she'd always strive for, in fact. Convincing him to let her help him. At the same time, he'd probably support her detective work strongly because it makes her into such an amazing and strong person and she's so damn brilliant and good at it. He just wouldn't like the fact that she is often shot at/kidnapped/attacked/etc.
And then the biggest obstacle in their relationship: Neuro. Yako is only ever away from Neuro during school, or for some afternoons when he doesn't need her at the time, or he's just being weirdly lenient and letting her take some time to herself. He is the closest and most important person to her, and she'll do anything for him. Kaito would be jealous - and more than that, he would hate Neuro for constantly abusing, ridiculing and using his girlfriend - and Yako would understand, but she wouldn't change it. She'd feel a little guilty, but when it comes down to it, Neuro is just more important to her. She can't express how much he means to her or why he means so much, but she'll follow him to the ends of the earth and back.
If Kaito could accept that and realise that she loves him and she loves Neuro in completely different ways, they could still quite happily be in a relationship. In fact, if Kaito clearly accepted that, there probably wouldn't be too much of a problem, because Neuro wouldn't feel threatened, knowing that Yako wouldn't be stolen away from him and that all the effort and hard work he's put into her wouldn't be messed up by some worthless pest. They might even find it challenging and entertaining (and at times a little irritating) to compete for Yako's time and attention sometimes.
It all boils down to whether Kaito could accept it or not - and it would be completely understandable if he couldn't. It's ridiculous how devoted she is to the demon; even after he leaves, if Kaito thought that would be the end of it, he'd be very wrong. Yako waits for Neuro, even though she knows it could be a thousand years before he returns - and every single thing she does in those years while she waits is motivated by Neuro. She actually vows to him that she'll shine so brightly that he can find her no matter when or where he reappears in her world.
TL;DR IT'D BE GREAT BUT HE HAS TO ACCEPT THAT NEURO > HIM which would unfortunately make Neuro very very smug sob

Well, their friendship, right after she moves into his house, would start off awkward. In fact, it would start off painfully awkward and unsure and hesitant, and Belarus would probably end up nearly stabbing him a lot and America would be terrified of her all the time, but then they would start understanding each other and it would ease off into something better - his cheerfulness, stupidity and overly energetic behaviour to brighten her usually pessimistic-realist views, to fill the silences her quiet and reserved behaviour creates, to stop her from intelligently analysing everything and just doing.
The step into a romantic relationship wouldn't be that much of a stretch, in all honesty. She'd be awkward and very unsure about it at first, because the last time she was in love it ended so badly, but America is invasive and persistent and loveable. Once she crumbled and agreed to give it a try, the next obstacle would be the fact that he'd be very physically affectionate, and I imagine she would immediately shove him away the first time he tries to kiss her. And then she'd start finding his abrasiveness, his loud and forward personality to be sort of endearing, and she'd take all of his overzealous actions and open displays of affection with fond exasperation (and occasionally irritation, when he comes to be a little too much to deal with).
It'd probably be very good for both of them, actually. Belarus isn't used to having a presence like America around her (the closest she got was Poland or Lithuania, but that friendship was shattered a while ago), and she's also not used to someone openly loving her. America would teach her what a real relationship is supposed to be like, instead of the twisted one she had with her brother, and he'd also teach her everything he could about the world - well, really, he'd just teach her everything he could about America, but she'd find all that fascinating (and strange and a little off-putting) nonetheless. He could help her meet other nations that were previously kept away from her because Russia controlled who she did and did not come into contact with, and he could ~show her the world~. In return, Belarus is a mature and responsible girl who would try to make him see reason when he starts spouting his more ridiculous ideas, and she'd also try to make him show a calmer, more mature side more often. The relationship would probably be full of a lot of good surprises for both sides.
... But then we know how it starts to fall apart, and we know how it ends.
