Aria is in many ways a romantic. She has an ideal that love endures and that if love is present, the rest doesn't matter. She will do whatever it takes to make her relationships work, no matter how risky or difficult, if she believes the payoff is worthwhile.

However, she is also very much a realist in that she understands relationships take work and she usually takes a pretty mature approach to dealing with problems. Doubly so if you fall for someone you're not supposed to, as she did, but even with her parents' marriage breaking down she wants them to work at it so they can fix things. That said, she is still a teenager so there's still a lot she's figuring out. But she's pretty level-headed about it most of the time.
