"But that's part of what makes it so exciting!" Feferi glubbed enthusiastically. "Besides, who knows. Maybe this is just what the town needs to bring a bit more cheer to the place."
Aria still didn't seem convinced, but one look at Feferi's excitedly determined expression told her that arguing was not going to change anything. She sighed, casting another glance at the cuttlefish cages. "Well, will they be okay? Sea water and fountain water are very different."
"It's only for a little bit. Besides, why do you think I asked you to bring salt?" Feferi giggled before her expression became more serious. "Now, are you with me or are you going to whelk out like a wriggler?"
Later, when Aria sat listening to her friends discuss how much of a fuss people had made over cuttlefish appearing in the fountain, she had to admit there was a certain degree of joy in knowing she was involved. She debated telling them the truth, but held back - even for her, saying she'd teamed up with a sea troll from another world would definitely be considered weird. And so she simply smiled, feigning simple amusement when the truth was she was already wondering what kind of shenanigans she and Feferi could get up to next time.
