He was likely to have nightmares for quite a while - it turned out that even beyond whatever reservations he might have had about sharks, Jaws was a very effective horror movie. But that didn't mean he had to let on just how scary he found it around Yuri. Hopefully she wouldn't notice the way he ended up holding his breath through the attack scenes - especially the part with the shark cage. In the end, though, he ended up cheering - the ending was completely ridiculous as far as being realistic went, but it was definitely satisfying.
And then, of course, he had to tempt fate. "Please tell me there aren't sequels to this." Yuri's smile made him wonder whether the sharks were just in the water after all.

Sorry for the late!
But he couldn't help remembering that about their second conversation ever had ended with her asking him to help her fly, since the virus wings wouldn't do it on their own. Or the look on her face when it finally happened, and they were flying just high enough to avoid the treetops of the abandoned stretch of forest he'd found for them to try it in.
There were other times like that, when he was reminded how vulnerable she could be. But somehow nothing stuck in his mind like the look of pure joy she had when they really flew.
