I'm at 0 HP. I think this is what they call a cutscene death. [He laughs again, and it shakes his whole body. Tears cascade down his cheeks.] Do you think I'll get to try again? New game, new story? I don't want to go through all that again! It's not worth it!

Oh, no, you don't understand. I'm not a player character, Jin. I'm the final boss. Even if the save file is loaded, I don't know if I'd come back as me or as a Kefka from a different playthrough. The goal is to kill me anyway.

[He finds Jin's hand and grips it. For someone with such small hands, he certainly has a tight grip.]

If I come back, new game, and don't remember anything, you have to change what happens. Help me find a better way to end the siege of Doma when I leave Figaro Castle. If I don't use poison, Celes won't defect. And make sure that I know that Bahamut will come out of the Sealed Gate so I'm prepared when it opens so Vector doesn't get destroyed!

[Kefka coughs from the force of that last sentence.]

That's the important stuff. I may end up dying anyway, but at least I won't be miserable doing it. [He smiles.] Celes remains with us and Vector is saved. That'd be pretty impressive, right?
