So, I was chatting with a friend today when he asked me what kind of laptop/computer Kaworu uses. In answering him, I became curious. So:
What kind of laptop/desktop does your character use?
Why? (For the sound, picture, processing power, features?)
If they don't use either, what does their device to access the community look like?
Pictures are encouraged, haha. ♥

Akako: a mac laptop. And she doesn't really use it often, nor does she really care what brand it is, because she can just use her magic to make it better. So it's just kinda... for who XD; IT LOOKS PRETTY OKAY.
Trucy: uuuuuuh some kind of old, dinky computer sob.
Yoko: ... a computer that Leeron made up idk. It's probably an awesome computer, though.

Probably eerily similar to the one Phoenix has at his office. 8|b;;

He doesn't use it much outside of visiting the community/work/music, either. Kaworu's never been the gaming sort, but his passion for music required something perky enough to hold/play all this music, and for it this was actually the best choice. The specs are quite good, and the memory is very decent for a notebook (granted it does have 1-2 GB of RAM, and 160 GB HD, which can also be updated to about 250 GB). It's a tiny thing at around 2 lbs, but the sound quality is supposedly excellent despite its size. Kaworu's not terribly picky, but that's one thing he required. After all, he loves his music. Might as well get something that plays it and plays it well.
Not to mention, the small size is perfect for just randomly toting around the apartment and serves his need to code/hack just fine. He likes the fact it doesn't make much of presence, and can be used pretty discreetly.
However, he couldn't afford anything better. Which, really, he's fine with. He's not one for splurging unnecessarily (much less spending money at all). And for a student who works to keep an apartment with Asuka and Minato (as well as eat everyday, lol) - this was the best choice, granted it falls below $500, and is easily one of the cheaper (and efficient) models out there.
The white coloration, however? That's just personal bias. He's prone to lean most heavily toward warmer, brighter colors. (Orange being his favorite, after all.)
Annnd here's a picture: Yes, it has gray swirls. (http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a297/Sans_Reves/hp-mini-110_white-swirl.png)
However, back in Tokyo-3, I wouldn't put it past him to have had a super-souped up PC. Probably a mongrel in terms of systems, and definitely sturdy enough to take multiple hits from the offending server he was trying to hack into. Hahaha.

Tamaki has pretty much the best PC money could buy last summer when Tieria's attempt to fix the community fried his old one. It's white and extremely fast, and considering that all he uses it for is the community and other internet business, homework, and watching movies, he's vastly underusing it.
Mitsuru has a decently powered PC at home and a netbook for taking to meetings and classes. She really just uses it for the community and work.
Rise has a painfully adorable pink laptop, and a painfully adorable pink phone with wifi capabilities. She's pretty internet-savvy, but doesn't use computers for much else.
Senjougahara still has the same PC she had in middle school; it was high-end then, but is just average by now.
Nena... let's see. Currently she has a computer terminal in her room, but she mostly uses that for stuff related to fixing the Gundams or working with Lagrange-3's network. At Cross's house she had a laptop, but that was mostly for seeing how much she could soup it up for shits and giggles, and it's currently in the possession of Mikaela. Mostly she just has Haro interface with whatever screen is nearby; she also has a ~future phone~ with a projector screen that she uses in conjunction with Haro a lot, but she doesn't use that for much else because lol no service in space. She's capable of connecting to the comm directly with her mind (quantum brainwaves FTW) but is a little wary of that since the time SHODAN owned her ass, so only does it when there's no other option and it's urgent.

When Death bothers to use a computer, I've decided it's an Apple II.

...The community wasn't very happy that he tried to leave it behind.

For Sylar, I decided his new daddy gave him a MacBook Pro (or maybe he stole it, haw haw) that he likes to dick around on in his downtime. He'll probably trade it in for a Blackberry or iPhone later to better suit his need to constantly roadtrip.

Rose's is a computer like device that was made by winglies, so its small, and has a bit of an organic like design to it. It has magical elements to it and it was given to her as a gift.
Hector's looks like a leather bound book, and again has magical elements since it never needs to be recharged. And he found it so he's not picky about it.

1998, good year. And he still uses the original Windows '98 with it. He can't do shit.

Casey is pretty update on computer technology as well, although he tends to use pcs. From what I could see they are set to focus on Chuck's home and workplace being the creepy stalker/bodyguard he is.
Touya uses a book to communicate with the community. He's not exactly technology savvy, although if he was taught he would probably pick up on it pretty fast like he does on everything else.
