How has roleplay affected your personal views.

One positive effect of me becoming depressed, is that I tend to get a lot of ideas, and really live in my head as I slowly raise out of it. Never during, though. Life just sucks during.

ANYWAY.

Has the roleplay of a particular character changed your point of view on something from real life? Made you see, or switch over to, the other side of an argument?

Roleplaying Bertie and an OC Thomas Gates has affected me on a personal level, in helping me see the sunnier side of life. I think I enjoy little things more, and feel better about being silly or 'frivolous' when I'm not depressed. In other words, before, even when I wasn't in a depression, I wasn't very happy, and was serious, sarcastic, and cynical. A chunk of that was just me being an adolescent, but Bertie, not just playing him but reading his stories, has really helped me giggle more.

How about you? Has a fictional character measurably changed your outlook? Particularly through role-play?

I don't know about my outlook, but (this is going to sound totally lame)... At the risk of sounding like a loser, I think playing Phoenix has made interacting with people on a social level a little easier for me. Sometimes I get flustered; I don't always know how to react to things others say to me, and I've caught myself thinking, "Well, how would Phoenix respond...?" on more than one occasion.

I'll put it this way- RP has pretty much become a part of my daily life, so it's no surprise that the characters I play, as well as others who play them (or even characters I don't play) have a certain effect on me.

Rukia here? Yeah, she's teaching me that in a way- even though you're older and may be wiser, it doesn't always mean you know everything, or need to know everything. Also, it's totally okay to yell at people who annoy you and punch them in the gut as a way of teaching them a lesson. XD

...Okay, so that last one may not be that great an example.

But as for others, Tidus and Sora bring out the kid in me. I miss it, especially when I'm doing a lot of serious work in RL. I love interacting with people as them, even though at times it takes me forever and a day to tag back, ffffffffff.

Dante's just made me realize that I need to stop being so uptight about everything. Granted, that doesn't mean I laze about and don't do shit, but I've become a bit more relaxed over matters that used to really bug me.

WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT; VERBAL AND PHYSICAL ABUSE ARE PERFECT WAYS OF SHOWING AFFECTION AND OR DISCIPLINE.

XANXUS AND LUSSURIA TAUGHT ME THAT. 8D

...WELL YEAH BUT I'M NOT A VIOLENT PERSON, SO IDEKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK. It's still nice to know, just as a backup plan. 8D

[/totally not on her Dissidia account for Tidus because she loves the game but has never played it, what are you talking about.]
